This unique garden trellis combines copper and cedar into a classic design. And this trellis provides a great place for a climbing plant.
It's the cross bars that make it unique -- they're made from copper plumbing pipe. They'll be shiny when you first build the trellis. But before long, the copper will age to a blue-green color that will add an interesting contrast to the oil-finished wood.
The trellis in the photo was built with No. 2 Western red cedar. It's a durable outdoor wood that's available at most lumberyards and home centers.
