This redwood planter pretty much has it all. It's good looking, easy to make, easy to modify the size to whatever you want. You can use it as a planter sitting on your deck or patio. Or you can use it as a window box (plans for making window box hanging brackets are included).
The step-by-step instructions show you how to build the redwood planter to fit a plastic liner. You can get these liners in many sizes at any home or garden center. The four sides are joined with box joints, cut on a table saw. The plans include instructions for building a simple table saw jig to cut the box joints.
Once you've built the jig, you can make one redwood planter or one hundred, of all different lengths and widths if you wish. We used redwood because it's a beautiful wood that stands up to weather and moisture well. Other good choices would be cedar and painted pine or pressure-treated pine.
